【课题】

六年级 英语 Unit 8 Our dreams 》(Checkout time& Cartoon time

【教材简解】

本课的话题是“梦想家”,旨在通过此话题的讨论,引导学生树立正确的价值观,心怀梦想并为实现自己的梦想而努力奋斗。课文围绕“Cartoon time的猴子Jack很羡慕他的好朋友们都有梦想,他自己也想找到梦想成为一个梦想家”展开。本课在复习Cartoon time内容的同时,巧妙地让学生完成Checkout time的练习。本节课我旨在学生在掌握好旧知的基础上,鼓励学生简单说说自己的梦想、理由和行动。因此,我设计了以下教学目标。

【目标预设】

知识目标: 

1.Enable the Ss to review the new words and phrases: scientist, brave, artist, paint, do more sport, study hard, etc.

2.Enable the Ss to know how to use the sentence structures: What do /does … want to be/do?

技能目标: 

1.To develop Ss’ spoken English.

2.To develop Ss’ communicative ability in English.

3.Ss can use English to describe their dreams correctly.

情感目标: 

1.To improve Ss’ interest in English.

2.Enable the Ss to try their best to make their dreams come true.

【重点、难点】

1. Ss can use the words and the sentences correctly.

2. Ss can use English to describe their dreams.

【设计理念】

教学的主体是学生,因此,在课堂上我始终会以学生为中心(student-centered

class),把激发学生的学习兴趣放在首位。通过听说读写等一系列教学活动学习一般将来时。我强调从学生的生活经验和认知水平出发,倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式和任务型教学模式,发展学生的综合运用英语的能力,进一步提高学生的学习热情,增强学习英语的兴趣。

【设计思路】

本课内容是一篇话题性文章,围绕dreamers这个副标题提供了很好的能够让学生表达的素材。因此,整节课我都围绕如何让学生多说、多用英语为主。并且,这个主题是孩子们特别感兴趣的一个主题,因而我设计以下几个环节:在导入环节,通过歌曲What do you want to be》,一方面复习之前所学的职业,激发学生的兴趣,另一方面为下一个环节同桌对话复习句型: What do you want to be in the future? I want to be a/an…做铺垫。在新授环节,学生通过Listen and circle, read and fill, think and write等环节学习。环节安排由浅入深,环节内容由易到难。在课堂巩固环节,学生通过give some advice和write down your dreams等环节,在复习巩固Cartoon time中Bobby,Sam,Willy,Billy的梦想同时,增加了另外两个角色猴子Jack和Tina的梦想学习,其中Jack是本节课的灵魂人物,本节课都围绕着他想成为梦想家,并努力寻找自己的梦想为主线,最后回归到学生自己的梦想的学习,提高口语能力的同时,并在此基础上进行写作训练。在课文的最后,由孩子们的梦想升华为中国梦,进一步对孩子进行情感教育。

【教学过程】

Step 1.  Pre-task Preparation

1. Free talk:

T: Talk with the Ss as follows:

What day is it today?

How’s the weather?

Do you like singing?

Lets sing together.

2. Sing the song<What do you want to be>

【设计意图】:音乐是最能使人感到快乐的。优美的音乐,欢快的节奏,既愉悦身心又陶冶情操,还能激发学生的学习兴趣。从儿童的心理特征来讲,欢快的节奏刺激大脑并引起兴奋。学生在唱歌时,随着旋律的起伏变换,在感到松弛,愉快,满足的同时,会产生兴奋情绪。而这首歌曲既可以缓解紧张的学习气氛 又可以为教授新知埋下伏笔。

Step 2.  While-task Procedure

1. Work in pairs:

T: Ask the Ss: What do you want to be in the future?

Choose one student to answer. Then let the Ss work in pairs to make a dialogue like this:

——What do you want to be in the future?

——I want to be a/an

Ss: Work in pairs to make a dialogue.

T: Choose two pairs to act their dialogues out.

【设计意图】:通过对话形式不但提高了学生的口语交际能力和合作的能力,也为主角Jack做准备

2. Review the Cartoon time:

T: Show the monkey Jack and let the Ss listen: Wow, you have wonderful dreams. My friends have wonderful dreams too. Then show them Bobby, Sam, Willy, Billy and Tina. And tell them: They are all dreamers.

Ss: Learn the title: Dreamers

【设计意图】:通过介绍Jack的朋友们都有梦想,引出本课时的话题dreamers。为下面Cartoon time的复习做铺垫。

Ss: Try to fill in the blanks and review the dreams of Jacks friends as follows:

Bobby wants to be a ________. He should ________ hard. He will read ________ books.

Sam wants to be a ________. He wants to help ________. A policeman should be ________ and ________. He will do ________ sport.

Willy wants to be an ________. He likes ________. He often_______ pictures in the park. He will have ________ lessons.

Billy wants to be a ________. He likes ________. He will go to ________ school.

Then follow the teacher learn Tinas dream:

Tina wants to be a writer. She likes reading many books. She often writes stories at weekends. She will travel around the world and write many interesting stories in  the future.

【设计意图】:Cartoon time中没有介绍Tina的梦想,这里运用了文本再构,创设了Tina的梦想,让原本的故事能更丰满。同时,在介绍Tina想成为作家,喜欢写故事,顺利为下面介绍她写的故事而做准备。

3. Learn Tinas story:

T: Share Tinas storybook with the Ss and tell them: Look, this is Tinas storybook. Lets enjoy it.

Ss: Get to know the names of the five children: Sandy, Alan, Jenny, John and Mary.

T: Ask the Ss: What are their dreams?

Ss: Listen to the computer and try to find out their dreams.

【设计意图】:在欣赏Tina的故事内容前,先介绍故事中的五个人物,这五个人物就是本课Checkout time中的人物,为这一部分的学习预热一下。

2) Listen and choose:

T: Tell the Ss to finish the exercise on P86. Then check the answers with the Ss.

【设计意图】:通过听力,锻炼了学生的听力理解能力,让学生初步感知五个人物的梦想。

3) Enjoy the story and fill in the table:

T: Ask the Ss: What will they do in the future?

Ss: Read the story with the teacher and try to find out the answers. Then, fill in the table. Finally, check the answers and review the story.

【设计意图】:在知道这五个人物梦想的基础上,进一步学习他们将来会做什么事情,让这一个文本的学习更加层次分明,难度逐步提升的同时,帮助学生复习一般将来时的运用。

4. Learn Jacks dream:

T:Review with the Ss: Tina wants to be a writer. Bobby wants to be a scientist. Sam wants to be a policeman. Willy wants to be an artist. Billy wants to be a cook.

Then ask the Ss: What does Jack want to be in the future?

T: Let the Ss read and find out his dream:

During this winter holiday, many people are ill. I feel very sad. I want to help them out of danger. But I'm not able to do it now. So I want to be a doctor in the future. To make my dream come true, I will study hard and read many books about medicine. I will go to a medical school(医学院).

S: Get to know Jacks dream: He wants to be a doctor.

T: Tell the Ss: Now Jack has his dream. He is a dreamer too. But just remember Dont let your dreams be dreamers.

【设计意图】:在感知自己朋友的梦想的伟大的同时,Jack也在努力寻找自己的梦想,结合当前的实际情况——疫情期间,Jack终于找到了自己的梦想——医生,这一伟大的职业。与此同时,告知学生梦想很伟大,需要我们为此付诸努力。

5. Give some advice:

T: Let the Ss work in four and choose four characters and give them some advice as follows:

_________, to make your dream come true, you should________________________.

Ss: Discuss and try to give some advice.

T: Choose two or three groups to show their advice.

【设计意图】:学生通过小组合作,给出宝贵的意见,不但训练了他们的口语交际能力,也训练了他们的团队合作意识。在讨论如何实现梦想的同时,也给学生提供了写作素材,为接下来的写作环节做准备。

Step3. Post-task Activities

1. Finish Think and write in the checkout time:

T: Tell the Ss: I think Jack and his friends will be wonderful dreamers. Do you want to be a dreamer? Whats your dream? Now think about it and try to write it.

Ss: Try to finish it.

T: Choose two or three students to read their dreams.

And tell them: You will be wonderful dreamers too.

【设计意图】:在这个过程中让学生总结本课内容,并且锻炼学生的书写能力。教师引导学生灵活运用所学知识,完成任务,培养学生运用英语的能力。 

2.Watch the video:

Ss: Watch the video and try to learn: When our dreams come true, we can protect our country. We can make our country stronger and stronger.

【设计意图】:让学生明白梦想的实现,需要付出很多努力,而一旦实现梦想,我们应该竭尽所能保护我们伟大的祖国,让我们的祖国变得更强大。

Step 4. Homework

1.Share your dreams with your parents.

2.Do your best to make your dreams come true.

【设计意图】:适量的英语作业能帮助学生有效巩固本课内容,全面提高英语能力。
